On April 19th, the Women Empowerment Council organized the first Women Leadership Roundtable dinner of the year at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund.
Council Member Representatives and women executives from MNCs with aligned DNI goals were invited to attend, including Carolyn Wu (Director of Strategy & Business Operations, Apple), Christine Lam (CEO, Citi China, Citibank), Teresa Shi (CFO, Chayora), Savita Iyer (Exec Director Finance, Disney), Jane Wong Pinter (Head of HR, Greater China, Henkel), Helen Liu (VP of J&J Medical China Supply Chain & China WLI ERG Lead, Johnson & Johnson), Shang Rong (VP of Communications Corporate Affairs, Microsoft), and Joy Han (Executive GM, Shanghai UFH); as well as, Diane Ho (Executive Coach, Transcend Beyond) and distinguished guest from the US Consulate in Shenyang, Consul General Nancy Abella.
The Women Leadership Roundtable Series aims to bring together women executives and decision-makers from multi-national companies, private enterprises, and government organizations in China from a diverse range of backgrounds and industries. While advancing gender equality requires both women and men to take action, all-women spaces are still vital for the purpose of free and open discussions about women-related topics. These roundtables are a supportive platform for women executives to share personal and professional experiences, connect with potential peer mentors and sponsors, and build a community of women empowering themselves and each other. They serve as a key resource for understanding the needs and challenges of women leaders, as well as a space for exchanging creative ideas and solutions.
