On June 18th, the first ever Women Empowerment Awards in China was held in Beijing, a new initiative proposed by the Women Empowerment Council and organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) and impact-driven consultancy SCHSAsia.
The inaugural Awards recognized trailblazing individuals and innovative companies who have demonstrated a robust commitment to promoting women in the workforce in order to encourage greater gender equality and drive stronger business outcomes in China. All finalists and winners were selected by a panel of expert and impartial judges who had been invited based on their engagement in the topic of gender equality, establishment within their field of work, and advocacy for women empowerment.
The Awards Celebration Dinner was a unique and entertaining evening honoring individuals who are courageous, committed, and influential role models in the community and companies that are market-leading in their approach to gender equity and advancement of women in businesses in China.
